बैंक ऑफ इंडिया चंडीगढ़ अंचल ने जनसेवा एवं सामाजिक सरोकार की भावना के साथ मनाया 121वां स्थापना दिवस

7 सितंबर 1906 को मुंबई में स्थापित बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने एक कार्यालय, ₹50 लाख की प्रदत्त पूंजी और 50 कर्मचारियों के साथ अपनी यात्रा शुरू की। वर्ष 1969 में राष्ट्रीयकृत बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने वर्षों के दौरान एक प्रमुख सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक के रूप में देश-विदेश में अपनी मजबूत पहचान बनाई है। 31 मार्च 2026 तक बैंक की भारत में 5,511 शाखाएं एवं विदेशों में 22 शाखाएं थीं तथा इसकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय उपस्थिति 15 देशों एवं पांच महाद्वीपों में है। एक शताब्दी से अधिक की गौरवशाली विरासत के साथ बैंक आज आधुनिक बैंकिंग तकनीक, वित्तीय समावेशन, ग्राहक सेवा एवं सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को निरंतर आगे बढ़ा रहा है।

बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, चंडीगढ़ अंचल द्वारा 7 सितंबर 2026 को 121वां स्थापना दिवस फील्ड जनरल मैनेजर श्री अनिल कुमार वर्मा एवं अंचल प्रबंधक श्री राजेश रंजन के मार्गदर्शन में उत्साह एवं हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर बैंक की सेवा भावना, सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व एवं पर्यावरण संरक्षण को प्रतिबिंबित करने वाली विभिन्न गतिविधियों का आयोजन किया गया।

कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ अरदास के साथ हुआ, जिसमें बैंक की निरंतर प्रगति एवं सफलता के लिए ईश्वर का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया गया। इसके पश्चात गुब्बारे उड़ाने एवं वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। वृक्षारोपण के माध्यम से पर्यावरण संरक्षण तथा हरित एवं स्वस्थ भविष्य का संदेश दिया गया।

जनसेवा एवं सामुदायिक कल्याण की दिशा में पहल करते हुए निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य जांच शिविर का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें बैंक के स्टाफ सदस्यों, ग्राहकों तथा समाज के जरूरतमंद एवं वंचित वर्ग के लोगों को स्वास्थ्य जांच एवं चिकित्सकीय परामर्श की सुविधा प्रदान की गई। यह पहल बैंक की उस सोच को दर्शाती है कि बैंकिंग सेवाओं के साथ-साथ समाज के कल्याण में योगदान देना भी उसकी महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारी है।

इसके पश्चात सेक्टर 31, चंडीगढ़ स्थित अंचल कार्यालय में लाइब्रेरी का उद्घाटन किया गया। लाइब्रेरी का उद्देश्य स्टाफ सदस्यों के बीच पढ़ने, सीखने एवं ज्ञानवर्धन की संस्कृति को प्रोत्साहित करना है। इस अवसर पर बैंक ऑफ इंडिया चंडीगढ़ अंचल की हिंदी पत्रिका ‘प्रखर’ का विमोचन भी किया गया। ‘प्रखर’ के माध्यम से बैंक द्वारा राजभाषा हिंदी के प्रचार-प्रसार एवं प्रयोग को बढ़ावा देने के साथ-साथ कर्मचारियों की साहित्यिक, रचनात्मक एवं अभिव्यक्तिपूर्ण प्रतिभा को मंच प्रदान किया जा रहा है। यह पहल कार्यालयीन कार्यों में हिंदी के अधिकाधिक प्रयोग तथा राजभाषा के प्रति कर्मचारियों में जागरूकता एवं रुचि बढ़ाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।

समारोह को आगे बढ़ाते हुए केक कटिंग समारोह आयोजित किया गया, जिसमें अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया और बैंक की गौरवशाली यात्रा एवं उपलब्धियों का उत्सव मनाया। स्थापना दिवस के अवसर पर जनसेवा की भावना को आगे बढ़ाते हुए कार्यक्रम का समापन पीजीआईएमईआर, चंडीगढ़ में गरीब, जरूरतमंद एवं वंचित लोगों के लिए भोजन वितरण के साथ हुआ।

इस प्रकार बैंक ऑफ इंडिया चंडीगढ़ अंचल का स्थापना दिवस समारोह बैंक की गौरवशाली विरासत, जनसेवा, सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व, पर्यावरण संरक्षण, राजभाषा हिंदी के प्रचार-प्रसार, ज्ञानवर्धन एवं सामुदायिक कल्याण के प्रति उसकी निरंतर प्रतिबद्धता का प्रतीक बना।

 

Bank of India Chandigarh Zone Celebrates 121st Foundation Day with Spirit of Public Service and Social Responsibility

Established on 7 September 1906 in Mumbai, Bank of India began its journey with a single office, a paid-up capital of ₹50 lakh and 50 employees. Nationalised in 1969, the Bank has, over the years, established itself as a prominent public sector bank with a strong presence in India and abroad. As on 31 March 2026, the Bank had 5,511 branches in India and 22 branches overseas, with an international presence across 15 countries and five continents. With a glorious legacy spanning more than a century, the Bank continues to strengthen its commitment towards modern banking technology, financial inclusion, customer service and social responsibility.

Bank of India, Chandigarh Zone celebrated its 121st Foundation Day on 7 September 2026 with enthusiasm and fervour under the guidance of Shri Anil Kumar Verma, Field General Manager, and Shri Rajesh Ranjan, Zonal Manager. A series of activities reflecting the Bank’s spirit of public service, social responsibility and environmental consciousness were organised on the occasion.

The celebrations commenced with an Ardas, seeking divine blessings for the continued progress and success of the Bank. This was followed by a balloon release and tree plantation drive. The tree plantation initiative conveyed a strong message of environmental conservation and the collective responsibility towards building a greener and healthier future.

As part of its commitment towards public service and community welfare, a Free Health Check-up Camp was organised. The camp provided health screening and medical consultation to Bank staff members, customers and people belonging to underprivileged and needy sections of society. The initiative reflected the Bank’s belief that, alongside providing banking services, contributing to the welfare of society is also an important responsibility.

The celebrations continued with the inauguration of a library at the Zonal Office in Sector 31, Chandigarh. The library aims to promote a culture of reading, learning and knowledge enhancement among staff members.

On the occasion, the Chandigarh Zone’s Hindi magazine ‘Prakhar’ was also released. Through Prakhar, the Bank is promoting the use and propagation of Rajbhasha Hindi, while providing a platform for the literary, creative and expressive talents of its employees. The initiative further strengthens the use of Hindi in official work and encourages greater awareness, interest and participation in Rajbhasha activities among staff members.

The celebrations were further marked by a cake-cutting ceremony, in which officers and employees participated enthusiastically and celebrated the Bank’s glorious journey and achievements. As a further expression of the Bank’s commitment to public service, the Foundation Day celebrations concluded with distribution of food among poor, needy and underprivileged people at PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Thus, the 121st Foundation Day celebration of Bank of India, Chandigarh Zone became a meaningful reflection of the Bank’s glorious legacy and its continued commitment towards public service, social responsibility, environmental conservation, promotion of Rajbhasha Hindi, knowledge enhancement and community welfare.
